Germany Provides Financial Support of 147.47 Million Euros (97 Billion CFA Francs) to Senegal.

This aid was decided following intergovernmental discussions held in Dakar. It aims to support Senegal’s vision for structural transformation and invest in strategic sectors.

A portion of this financial support, amounting to 55 million euros, is allocated directly to budget support, with a particular focus on strengthening the rule of law and transparency. The program, developed by the Ministries of Finance of both countries, includes long-term development goals such as digital transformation and the modernization of energy infrastructure.

The agreement also places special emphasis on the economic participation of youth and women, with vocational training and the health sector being identified as priority areas. Recognizing the need for autonomy in the health sector post-pandemic, the pharmaceutical industry is also among the supported sectors.

This cooperation serves as an example of Europe-Africa partnerships and is seen as a significant step towards sustainable development for Senegal.
