The Rwandan government announced on Thursday that it has sent humanitarian aid to Gaza, which has been severely affected by the ongoing conflict. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the aid, which includes food, medicines, and medical supplies, was delivered in partnership with Jordan.

The statement read, “In support of ongoing international humanitarian efforts, a donation was made to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization in Amman. The donation includes 19 tons of food items, including fortified food for children, along with medicines and medical supplies.”

Rwanda also reiterated its support for the cessation of the conflict and the protection of civilian lives.

Since the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas, Israel has launched a devastating assault on Gaza, killing over 43,000 people and leaving the region nearly uninhabitable. Food and other aid are severely limited.

Israel is facing a potential genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its actions in the blockaded region.
