Chelsea F.C.’s hopes of securing UEFA Champions League qualification suffered a setback after a dramatic 1-1 draw with Burnley F.C. at Stamford Bridge.

Joao Pedro gave Chelsea an early lead, but the game changed when Wesley Fofana was sent off with 18 minutes left. Burnley took advantage, with Zian Flemming heading in a last-minute equaliser to keep their survival hopes alive.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa F.C. rescued a 1-1 draw against Leeds United F.C. thanks to a late Tammy Abraham goal, after Anton Stach had stunned Villa Park with a long-range free kick.

Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. ended a poor run with a 2-0 win over Brentford F.C., where veteran James Milner set a new Premier League appearance record with 654 matches.

At the top, Manchester City F.C. could move within two points of leaders Arsenal F.C., who face rivals Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in a crucial north London derby on Sunday.

With five Premier League spots likely available for next season’s Champions League, the race for Europe — and survival — is heating up.
