Donald Trump says the war between United States, Israel, and Iran could end soon after weeks of heavy military strikes.

In an interview with Axios, Trump said the joint US-Israeli campaign launched on February 28 had destroyed many Iranian military targets and was moving faster than expected. He claimed the operation caused more damage than originally planned and suggested the conflict could stop whenever he decides.

The war began with large-scale strikes that killed senior Iranian leaders, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, both sides have exchanged attacks across the region.

Trump said Iran’s military capabilities have been heavily weakened, claiming the country has lost much of its navy, communications systems, air force, missiles, and drones. He also said the war could soon be “very complete.”

However, officials in Iran rejected the idea that Washington could decide when the conflict ends. Iranian military commander Ali Abdollahi said the war will continue until Iran defeats its enemies. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also stated that Iran will keep fighting to protect its national security.

At the same time, the US administration has reportedly asked Israel not to attack Iranian oil facilities, fearing such strikes could trigger major retaliation against Gulf energy infrastructure. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said the campaign would continue as long as necessary to achieve its objectives.

The situation remains tense, with both sides giving different signals about how and when the conflict might end.
