Hakan Fidan, the foreign minister of Türkiye, has warned against any attempt to trigger a civil war in Iran by exploiting ethnic or religious divisions.
Speaking in Ankara after meeting German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Fidan stressed that Türkiye strongly supports Iran’s territorial integrity and opposes any plan that could deepen internal conflict.
He said Ankara is “completely opposed” to efforts aimed at provoking unrest or dividing Iran along sectarian or ethnic lines, warning that such actions would worsen instability across the region.
Fidan also addressed the situation in Lebanon, criticizing ongoing Israeli bombardments. He accused the government of Benjamin Netanyahu of increasing regional tensions and warned that continued attacks could push Lebanon toward state collapse.
According to Fidan, the fighting has already caused large-scale displacement and humanitarian suffering, which he described as unacceptable. He urged an immediate end to the attacks to prevent further instability in the Middle East.
