A group of Arab and Islamic countries has strongly condemned recent missile and drone attacks by Iran, describing them as deliberate and unacceptable, especially as they targeted civilian areas and infrastructure

Foreign ministers from countries including Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates met in Riyadh to discuss the growing tensions in the region

In a joint statement, they stressed that such attacks cannot be justified and urged Iran to stop its actions immediately and return to diplomacy to reduce tensions

The ministers also warned against threats to key global shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab, highlighting the importance of maintaining maritime security

They called on Iran to stop supporting armed groups in other countries and emphasized that nations have the right to defend themselves under international law

At the same time, the statement reaffirmed support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability, while also condemning ongoing attacks by Israel in the country

Overall, the meeting reflects growing concern across the region about escalating conflict and the urgent need for dialogue to prevent a wider crisis
