Hakan Fidan has warned that Israel is responsible for pushing the Middle East into an unprecedented crisis, stressing that the ongoing conflict must not be used to justify occupation policies or violations
Speaking during a joint press conference in Doha alongside Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani Fidan said attacks carried out during ongoing diplomatic efforts have widened the conflict and threatened global stability
He strongly condemned strikes targeting civilians and infrastructure and reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for Qatar
At the same time Fidan delivered a clear message to Iran stating that its attacks on regional countries are unacceptable and risk undermining stability He emphasised that violence from any side only deepens the crisis and benefits no one
Fidan urged Tehran to act with “historic responsibility” and called for an immediate halt to escalation warning that continued conflict could create lasting divisions across the region He also highlighted risks to global trade and energy routes particularly threats to maritime security
Echoing these concerns Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani called for an immediate end to the war stressing that expanding the conflict would not serve regional stability He insisted that diplomacy must remain the primary path forward
Al Thani also criticised Iran’s justification for targeting US bases describing such actions as unjustified and warning of potential consequences for global energy supplies
The remarks come amid rising tensions following the joint US Israeli offensive against Iran and subsequent retaliatory strikes across the region
