Türkiye and Qatar Leaders Share Condolences After Helicopter Crash

Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani spoke by phone to express condolences following a deadly helicopter crash involving joint forces from Türkiye and Qatar.

The crash happened during a training exercise under the Qatar-Turkish Combined Joint Force Command when a Qatari military helicopter went down at sea due to a technical malfunction. Seven people lost their lives, including four Qatari soldiers, one Turkish soldier, and two technicians from ASELSAN.

During the call, both leaders shared their sympathies for the victims and their families. They also discussed ongoing developments in the region.

The Emir of Qatar thanked Erdogan for his efforts to help reduce tensions and promote peace in the region. Both sides agreed to continue close communication and cooperation.

In simple terms, the call was about honoring those who died in the accident while also reaffirming strong ties and coordination between Türkiye and Qatar.
