BIST 100, Türkiye’s main stock index, started the week with a small gain, opening at 12,709 points—up just 0.09%. This comes after a slight dip at the end of last week, showing a relatively stable but cautious market mood.
On the currency side, the Turkish lira continues to trade at weaker levels:
- 44.47 lira per US dollar
- 51.21 lira per euro
- 58.98 lira per British pound
Meanwhile, global commodity prices remain high. Gold is trading at around $4,531 per ounce, and Brent crude is at $115.8 per barrel.
Overall, the slight rise in stocks suggests cautious optimism, but high exchange rates and commodity prices indicate ongoing economic pressure both locally and globally.
