Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has publicly called on Donald Trump to help stop the ongoing war in the Middle East, warning that the conflict is escalating and affecting the wider region.
Speaking in Cairo alongside Nikos Christodoulides, Sisi made a direct appeal, saying that Trump has the power to bring the war to an end. He framed his message as a humanitarian call, emphasizing the need for peace and stability.
The appeal comes as the conflict enters its second month, with tensions rising across the Gulf region. Egypt has been actively involved in diplomatic efforts, including recent talks in Pakistan with other Muslim-majority nations to find a path toward de-escalation.
However, the situation remains volatile. Shortly after Sisi’s remarks, Trump issued strong warnings toward Iran, including threats targeting key infrastructure—highlighting the gap between diplomatic appeals and military rhetoric.
Sisi has previously urged Trump to intervene in regional conflicts, arguing that US influence is critical in stopping wars such as the one in Gaza.
Overall, Egypt is positioning itself as a voice for de-escalation, pushing for dialogue while the risk of further escalation continues to grow
