Flag carrier Air Algerie will resume flights from Algiers to Doha, Qatar, after a suspension of nearly seven months, Algeria’s state news agency APS reported Sunday, citing the airline.
The first flight is scheduled to depart at 12.55 am Tuesday, local Algeria time.
The route will initially operate three times a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, expanding to daily flights starting on Oct. 25, at the same departure time, APS reported.
Air Algerie suspended flights to and from Doha in late February amid deteriorating security conditions in the Middle East following the outbreak of the US-Israeli war against Iran.
At the time, the airline also announced the cancellation of flights to and from Amman, Jordan, and Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, saying it was acting to protect passengers and crews while continuing to assess developments in the region.
The war began with US and Israeli attacks on Iran on Feb. 28. Tehran responded with attacks on Israel and sites elsewhere in the region, disrupting air travel across the Middle East.
