ISTANBUL — Turkish low-cost carrier AJet has inaugurated direct flights between Istanbul and Beirut, enhancing connectivity between Türkiye and Lebanon. The inaugural flight departed from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport on Tuesday and was greeted with a ceremony at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.
Previously serving routes from Ankara and Adana to Beirut, AJet will now operate daily reciprocal flights on the Istanbul-Beirut route.
The new service forms part of AJet’s broader expansion across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa, reflecting the airline’s strategy to grow its international network.
AJet said the new route is expected to boost tourism and trade between Türkiye and Lebanon, providing easier travel for business and leisure passengers alike.
