Recep Tayyip Erdogan, president of Türkiye, has condemned what he described as a “bloodthirsty network” targeting civilian infrastructure in Iran and Lebanon.
Speaking during an iftar event in Istanbul, Erdogan said schools and hospitals across the region were being struck in a pattern similar to the destruction previously witnessed in Gaza.
The Turkish leader warned that attacks on civilian facilities are contributing to growing instability as violence spreads across the Middle East.
Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye continues to advocate restraint and diplomatic solutions to end the conflict.
He said Ankara remains among the countries promoting dialogue and diplomacy at a time when tensions in the region are escalating.
The crisis intensified after joint military strikes by Israel and the United States against Iran on February 28. Iranian authorities say the attacks have killed more than 1,200 people, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and injured over 10,000 others.
Iran has since retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as locations in Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf states hosting US military forces.
