Highway and bridge tolls have been increased. July 15 and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge tolls were increased from 15 liras to 24 liras and Osmangazi Bridge tolls were increased from 290 liras to 399 liras. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, “We felt the need to update our tolls according to the conditions that have emerged. It was really very low.”
The tolls of highways and bridges operated by the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) and private companies within the scope of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) were revised to be effective as of midnight. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu spoke about the increase in highway and bridge tolls. Uraloğlu answered the questions of journalists before the AK Party Parliamentary Group Meeting.
Upon a journalist’s question, “Would you have an evaluation regarding the increases in highway and bridge tolls?” Uraloğlu said, “We are in a process of efficiency and savings in the public sector. We felt the need to update our tolls according to the emerging conditions. They were really low. We needed to make an arrangement at the point of meeting maintenance and operation expenses, and we made that arrangement.”
In this context, for the July 15 Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridges, the toll for cars was 24 liras and the toll for motorcycles was 10 liras.
The Osmangazi Bridge toll tariff was 399 lira for cars, 760 lira for buses and 280 lira for motorcycles.
For the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, the toll for cars was 49 lira, while the bus fare was 120 lira.
The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge toll was set at 419 lira for cars and 105 lira for motorcycles.
The toll for the Anatolian highway between Istanbul and Ankara was 134 lira for cars.
Istanbul-Izmir highway toll including the Osmangazi Bridge toll was 984 liras for cars.
