During the Eid al-Adha holiday, a record was broken with 140,935 hours of electric vehicle charging time across Turkey.
According to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, a total of 3.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity was generated between June 15-23.
While the rapid development and expansion of electric vehicle use and charging infrastructure in Turkey continues, there was intensive use of charging stations during the holiday.
Electricity consumption due to charging services increased by 21 percent in the period between June 6-14 before the holiday compared to the period between June 15-23. In this period, the number of charging transactions also increased by 6.3 percent.
Thus, during the Eid al-Adha holiday, approximately 184 thousand charging operations were carried out at 19 thousand 761 electric charging sockets across Turkey, reaching a record charging time of 140 thousand 935 hours.
Number of green charging points exceeded 7 thousand
With new investments, the number of charging points increased from 3 thousand 81 in January last year to 19 thousand 761 as of June.
Of the charging points across Turkey, 7 thousand 122 are fast (DC) and 12 thousand 639 are slow (AC).
The number of YEK-G certified green charging points, which indicate that all electricity is generated from renewable energy sources, reached 7,175.
On the other hand, the geographical location, number, type and power of charging units and sockets, payment methods, availability and charging service prices of all charging stations in Turkey can be instantly monitored through the “Şarj@TR” mobile application developed by EMRA.
In parallel with the development in the electric vehicle market, EMRA aims to ensure a strong and stable growth in the charging network infrastructure by expanding the geographical coverage of the charging network in Turkey.
