Kuwait’s defence ministry said several American warplanes crashed on Monday morning, but confirmed that all crew members survived and are in stable condition. The cause of the crashes is still under investigation.
Authorities quickly launched search-and-rescue operations, evacuated the pilots and transported them to hospital for medical checks and treatment.
Conflicting Claims
The incidents happened as tensions continued to rise between United States and Iran, with Iran reportedly carrying out a third day of strikes in the Gulf region.
According to reports broadcast by TRT World, Iranian state television claimed that a US F-15 jet in Kuwait was brought down by Iranian air defence fire.
However, Kuwaiti authorities have not officially confirmed that the aircraft was shot down. Social media videos widely shared online appear to show what looks like a US F-15 crashing. Some online claims suggest the jet may have been hit by “friendly fire,” though this has not been verified.
Footage also shows a pilot parachuting down and later being transported in a civilian vehicle, reportedly after surviving the crash.
Investigations are ongoing, and officials have yet to confirm the exact cause of the incidents.
