U.S. President Donald Trump announced that major American defense companies have agreed to quadruple production of advanced weapons as the conflict with Iran enters its seventh day. The decision follows a meeting with executives from several of the country’s largest military manufacturers.

Trump said the companies would rapidly expand production of what he called “Exquisite Class” weaponrya term used to describe highly sophisticated and precision-guided military systems. According to reports, production expansion had already begun about three months before the meeting, with new manufacturing lines and plants already being prepared.

The announcement comes as Iranian forces launch missile and drone attacks against U.S. bases and regional allies, often using large waves of weapons to overwhelm defense systems such as Iron Dome air defense system, David’s Sling missile defense system, and Patriot missile system. The intensity of these attacks has raised concerns about how long interceptor supplies could last if the conflict continues.

Executives from several major companies attended the meeting, including leaders from BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Technologies, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. Another meeting with the defense executives is planned in about two months to review production progress.

Trump also claimed the United States currently has a “virtually unlimited supply” of medium-grade munitions, which he said are being used in ongoing military operations in Iran and were previously used in operations in Venezuela.

Officials say the increase in weapons manufacturing could also lead to new defense factories across the country, with several U.S. states competing to host the new plants.
