Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has conducted a series of high-level phone calls over the past three days following U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iran and Tehran’s retaliation.

Since the February 28 attacks, Fidan has spoken with the foreign ministers of Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria, Egypt, and Indonesia to assess developments and explore ways to halt the fighting.

He also held talks with counterparts from the United Arab Emirates, Spain, and Hungary. In discussions with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, the focus was on diplomatic initiatives to stop the escalation.

Over the weekend, Fidan spoke with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Badr Albusaidi of Oman. On Monday, he held further calls with Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan, Nadezhda Neynsky of Bulgaria, Jean-Noel Barrot of France, and Ayman Safadi of Jordan.

According to sources, the discussions centered on reducing tensions, ending military attacks, and strengthening diplomatic efforts to prevent a wider regional war.
