Naval Forces strengthen cooperation with Senegal through joint aerial operations
The Ministry of National Defence of Turkey has announced that personnel from its Naval Forces are conducting search-and-rescue training missions in Senegal
According to the statement, Turkish personnel are operating within Senegal’s search and rescue responsibility zone, providing training and operational support to the Senegalese Armed Forces
As part of the mission, training flights are being carried out over Senegalese airspace and maritime areas, aimed at improving coordination and operational capabilities. The ministry also highlighted that joint reconnaissance and surveillance flights took place on March 12, 2026, involving both Turkish and Senegalese aircrews
The initiative is designed to enhance cooperation, build trust, and strengthen military ties between the two countries, particularly in maritime security and emergency response operations
