Türkiye and Iran have mutually suspended day-trip passenger crossings at their shared border, Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced Monday, amid ongoing US–Israel strikes in Iran.
Bolat emphasized that commercial freight traffic continues without interruption through the three main border points — Agri–Gurbulak, Van–Kapikoy, and Hakkari–Esendere — under coordinated supervision. While passenger crossings are temporarily halted, citizens of both countries, as well as third-country travelers, are still allowed to return home.
Authorities are maintaining close coordination, reinforcing personnel, and enhancing inspection infrastructure to ensure trade and border services remain orderly and secure. Bolat stressed that the situation at border gates is stable and that all units remain on alert to respond to any developments.
