The Turkish Foreign Ministry said the developments that began with Israel and the United States attacking Iran, and continued with Iran targeting third countries, risk the future of the region and global stability
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry urged all parties to immediately cease the attacks
“We are deeply concerned by all actions that violate international law and threaten the lives of innocent civilians, and we condemn provocations that could lead to an escalation of violence,” the statement said
Ankara reiterated that regional issues should be resolved through peaceful means and said Türkiye is ready to provide mediation support. The ministry added that protecting Turkish citizens living in the affected countries remains a top priority, and necessary measures are being taken
Hakan Fidan Holds Diplomatic Calls
Outreach to regional counterparts after strikes
The statement came hours after Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held separate phone calls with his counterparts following strikes by the US and Israel on Iran

- Sugiono of Indonesia
The ministers discussed the latest regional developments and possible steps to end the attacks
Escalating Tensions
Israel and the United States launched strikes early Saturday, citing alleged threats posed by what they described as the Iranian regime
US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both released video statements following the operation
The attacks occurred while talks between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear programme were ongoing under mediation by Oman. A new round of negotiations in Geneva ended Thursday
Last June, Israel initiated a 12-day war with Iran, with the United States later joining and carrying out strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites
