Türkiye has secured recognition within the European Union’s emerging “Made in EU” industrial policy framework, a development Ankara says strengthens trade cooperation and reinforces its role in European supply chains.

Trade Minister Omer Bolat described the legal confirmation as a significant milestone for economic relations between Türkiye and the EU.

The policy forms part of the European Commission’s proposed Industrial Accelerator Act, aimed at boosting Europe’s industrial competitiveness through local production and low-carbon standards across strategic sectors.

Bolat said acknowledging Türkiye’s Customs Union ties within the new framework is a constructive step that supports long-term investments and the stability of European value chains.

He also emphasised that Türkiye remains a key and reliable partner for Europe in several strategic industries, particularly automotive manufacturing.
