Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he held a joint call in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to review recent Florida talks with the US aimed at ending the war with Russia.

Zelenskyy described the briefing with Ukrainian delegation head Rustem Umerov and US special envoy Steve Witkoff as “important,” noting that teams would coordinate schedules for follow-up in-person meetings.

In Paris, Zelenskyy and Macron spent several hours discussing efforts to end the war and secure long-term security guarantees for both Ukraine and Europe. “Peace must become truly durable … much now depends on the involvement of every leader,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian leader highlighted the broader European framework involved in the discussions — including Germany, Poland, Italy, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, the European Commission, the European Council, and NATO’s secretary general — calling it a valuable platform for aligning positions ahead of upcoming meetings.

Zelenskyy added that the group reviewed the substance of the Florida negotiations with the American side and agreed that progress is necessary for a fair resolution to the conflict.

Umerov, speaking separately on Facebook, described his two-day talks in the US as “very productive” and said “significant progress” was made, although some issues still require refinement.

“We agreed to maintain close and constant contact as this process continues,” Umerov said, noting that the delegation will soon present a full report to Zelenskyy in Europe. “We continue to work for peace for Ukraine.”
