A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Mexico’s southern Guerrero state on Tuesday, according to data from the country’s National Seismological Service.

The tremor was recorded near the town of San Marcos and was felt across parts of the region. During the earthquake, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum was reportedly forced to interrupt a press conference as the shaking was felt.
