Andrii Sybiha has warned Ghanaian citizens against joining Russian forces in the war, saying Moscow is recruiting nationals from African countries to fight in Ukraine.
Speaking in Kyiv during talks with Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Sybiha described Ghana as a strategic partner in West Africa.
He said Ukraine is ready to establish a food grain hub in Ghana to boost global food stability and expand cooperation in food security, logistics, defense industries, and education.
Sybiha also praised Ghana’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, particularly its vote backing the UN General Assembly resolution titled “Support for a Sustainable Peace in Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian diplomat added that Kyiv looks forward to Ghana’s upcoming leadership role in the African Union next year, highlighting growing political and economic ties between the two countries.
