Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that the escalating conflict involving Iran has pushed tensions in the Middle East to what he described as a “terrifying level.”

Speaking in Ankara, the Turkish president said the recent air strikes targeting Iran and subsequent retaliatory attacks risk widening the conflict across the region.

Erdogan also pointed to missile and drone strikes launched by Iran toward other countries in the Middle East, saying such actions increase the possibility of a broader regional confrontation.

He stressed that Türkiye is taking measures to protect its borders and airspace while continuing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

Ankara, he said, remains committed to dialogue and multi-dimensional diplomacy aimed at restoring stability and preventing further loss of life.
