Türkiye has stepped up its diplomatic efforts to contain the escalating Middle East conflict, with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announcing a regional tour aimed at mobilizing support for de-escalation.

Speaking in Ankara alongside Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, Fidan said the tour will focus on identifying concrete measures to halt the fighting and prevent further regional spillover. The initiative comes as the conflict expands beyond its initial fronts, increasingly affecting Lebanon and Iraq.

Fidan strongly condemned the targeted killings of Iranian officials, describing them as unlawful actions that fall outside the accepted norms of warfare. He stressed that such developments risk further destabilizing an already volatile region.

Carrying messages from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Fidan is expected to present Türkiye’s proposals for achieving long-term peace, while engaging both Western and Eastern partners to coordinate diplomatic responses.

Reaffirming Ankara’s vision, he emphasized the goal of a region where all states can coexist within secure and sovereign borders, reiterating support for a Palestinian state and broader regional stability.

Türkiye continues to position itself as a central diplomatic actor, seeking to bridge divides and prevent the conflict from escalating into a wider regional crisis.
