The situation in Lebanon continues to worsen as Israeli attacks push the death toll to 2,659, with more than 8,000 people injured, according to the health ministry. In just the last 24 hours, dozens more people have been killed and injured in ongoing airstrikes.
The conflict escalated after clashes involving Hezbollah, linked to the wider tensions surrounding the Iran war. Since then, the violence has forced over a million people to flee their homes, creating a major humanitarian crisis.
Although a ceasefire began in April and was extended, strikes have continued almost daily. Homes are still being destroyed, and many areas—especially in southern Lebanon—remain unsafe.
Israel says it is maintaining a “buffer zone” in the south to prevent further attacks, but critics argue that continued military actions are undermining the ceasefire agreement.
This ongoing violence highlights the fragile nature of the truce and the heavy toll the conflict is taking on civilians.
