Caleb Yirenkyi’s stoppage time goal secured Ghana a crucial 1-0 victory over Panama in a Group L fixture played at the Toronto Stadium in Canada on Wednesday.
Yirenkyi bundled in the winning goal in the 5th minute of stoppage time to settle a nervy battle between the two sides.
Each of the teams will face off against England and Croatia in their remaining group stage matches.
In an earlier fixture, England defeated Croatia 4-2, with England’s in-form striker, Harry Kane, bagging a brace.
Ghana will play the table-toppers, England, on June 23, and then round out the group stage fixtures with a match against Croatia on June 28.
Panama, on the other hand, will play against Croatia on June 24, and finally against England on June 28.
