Burkina Faso Stallions Suffer 3-0 Defeat Against Malawi in CAN 2025 Qualifiers.

The match, played at midday on Monday, November 18, 2024, marked the final day of the CAN Morocco 2025 qualifying tournament. With this result, Burkina Faso concluded their qualification campaign.

However, Burkina Faso had secured their first group-stage victory just last week with a 3-1 win over Malawi. In their latest game, the absence of key players such as Edmond Tapsoba, Bertrand Traoré, Dango Ouattara, Hervé Koffi Kouakou, Issa Kaboré, and Blati Touré was notable.

The Stallions had suffered a 1-0 defeat to Senegal on November 14, 2024, their second loss in these playoffs. With that win, Senegal’s Lions de la Téranga secured first place in Group L. Senegal will play their final match on November 19, 2024, against Burundi.

In the final standings for the CAN Morocco 2025 qualifiers, Senegal leads Group L with 13 points and a +7 goal difference, followed by Burkina Faso with 10 points and a +3 goal difference. Malawi and Burundi both have 4 points, with a -5 goal difference each, occupying third and fourth places, respectively.

The Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025 will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
