Türkiye has reaffirmed its determination to protect its airspace after a ballistic projectile launched from Iran was intercepted by NATO air defence units in the Eastern Mediterranean.
According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, debris later discovered in Hatay province was identified as fragments from the interceptor used during the operation. No casualties were reported.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Zeki Akturk said Ankara remains ready to respond to any hostile act while coordinating closely with NATO allies.
Officials added that Türkiye continues to support diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions as fighting intensifies across the region.
