The Central African Republic military has denied reports of an alleged coup plot within its ranks.
In an official statement, the military high command said the national army remains fully committed to its mission of protecting the country and defending legally established institutions.
It warned of disinformation campaigns that could disturb public order and urged citizens to rely on information from official state channels.
President Faustin Archange Touadera is serving his third term after winning reelection in December 2025.
The general staff of the armed forces reiterated the military’s loyalty to the legitimate authorities and assured that the security situation remains under control.

It comes amid speculation on social media suggesting a coup plot against the government.
In recent months, Central African authorities have repeatedly emphasised institutional stability in the country and the need to remain vigilant against destabilization threats and disinformation operations, according to Radio Ndeke Luka.
