Since Thursday, December 12, 2024, Dosso has been hosting the 6th Congress of the National Union of Post and Savings Agencies (SYNAPOSTE). The congress took place under the theme “Public Service Delivery by Niger Poste: The Contribution of Personnel in the Context of the Reconstruction of National Sovereignty of the Republic.”

During the congress, participants will define the key aspects surrounding the provision of quality public services for the benefit of citizens. Additionally, they will examine the moral and financial reports of the Board for the past three years and renew the governing bodies of the Board.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Brigadier General Iro Oumarou, Governor of Dosso Region, with speeches by Mr. Aboubacar Elhadji, Director General of Niger Poste, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Communications, Post and Digital Economy, Mr. AbdoulKarim Soumaila, Governor of Dosso Department, Mr. Ousseini Ouma Tambari, General Director of the Urban Commune of Dosso, Mr. Ibrahim Moussa Kouré, as well as heads of defense and security forces, alongside several allied unions.

The opening ceremony of the 6th SYNAPOSTE Congress was marked by numerous speeches, including those from Mr. AbdoulKarim Soumaila, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Communications, Post, and Digital Economy, and Mr. Aboubacar Elhadji, Director General of Niger Poste, who discussed Niger Poste’s goal of becoming “a leader in finance and postal services and a cornerstone of the socio-economic development of a sovereign Niger by 2030.”

It was also revealed that in the coming weeks, Niger Poste will launch a revolutionary e-commerce tool called “KAOMINI” in its latest generation version, enabling global online orders.

In his opening speech, Governor Brigadier General Iro Oumarou recalled the positive changes that have taken place in Niger since July 26, 2023, under the leadership of President Tuğgeneral Abdourahamane Tiani and His Excellency Mr. Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, President of the National Homeland Defense Council (CNSP). He emphasized that “in the face of emerging challenges, Niger Poste remains the sole operator for money transfers, postal transport, and distribution.”

The governor called on congress participants to double their efforts, showing professionalism and dedication in driving innovation within the context of rebuilding the Republic for a bold national sovereignty.

Mr. Saidou Abdou, General Secretary of the General Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Niger (CGSL), emphasized SYNAPOSTE’s impact in actively participating in all the union’s activities and responding to all demands. He said, “These results are a testament to the continuous commitment of SYNAPOSTE’s militants, especially the national executive board that has shown unwavering dedication to all central activities.” He added, “We express the strong and determined support of CGSL-Niger in accompanying them in all their union activities.”

Mr. Mounkaila Moumouni, General Secretary of SYNAPOSTE, reminded the congress that the 5th meeting had been hosted in Maradi. He highlighted SYNAPOSTE’s advocacy for unionism, emphasizing the defense of the material and moral interests of its members. He also praised the contribution of Niger Poste to the socio-economic development of Niger.

The general secretary also expressed his admiration for the actions carried out by the CNSP and the government in restoring Niger’s independence and dignity. He welcomed the emergence of AES, a confederation dedicated to integration, solidarity, and development.

Earlier, Mr. Idrissa Moussa Kouré, General Director of the Urban Commune of Dosso, warmly welcomed all participants to the congress on behalf of the commune’s population, emphasizing how the theme of the congress reflects the commitment of the structure, under the enlightened leadership of the CNSP president, to Niger’s new path. President Tuğgeneral Abdourahamane Tiani concluded the congress by expressing hope that “the relevant thoughts and suggestions will emerge to reclaim the noble missions entrusted to us.”
