Ethiopia announced that it is working closely with the Buhari Group of Pakistan to unlock access to world-class tourism destinations.
The Embassy stated in a press release sent to ENA: “We have already joined forces to showcase Ethiopia’s world-class tourist destinations, a project initiated and developed by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.”
Ethiopia’s Special Ambassador and Extraordinary Ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker, discussed all possible methods during a meeting with the management of the Buhari Group, which organizes the annual international tourism event PTM in Pakistan.
Buhari Group Chairman Sardar Mohammed Rafik Khan, Ethiopia’s Honorary Consul in Karachi, Ibrahim Khalid Tawab, and the district manager of Ethiopia-Pakistan Airways, Yonas Fekade, also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, Ambassador Jemal highlighted Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential, which attracts a large influx of tourists from around the world.
Specifically, he mentioned the world-class tourism destinations launched, developed, and initiated across Ethiopia under the Dine for Sheger, Ethiopia and Nations initiatives, designed to alleviate tourists’ needs, protect the environment, and provide livelihoods to many Ethiopian citizens.
The Ambassador also emphasized the role of Ethiopian Airlines in Pakistan’s Look Africa and Engage Africa Policy, effectively connecting not just Ethiopia but all of Africa.
Buhari Group Chairman Sardar Mohammed Rafik Khan assured the Ambassador that they would promote Ethiopia’s culture and tourism during the upcoming Travel Mart 2025.
He praised the services of Ethiopian Airlines and acknowledged its role in connecting Pakistan to Africa.
