Ghana has made a significant decision by announcing that, as of January 1, 2025, it will lift visa requirements for Moroccan citizens. This change means that Moroccan citizens will no longer need a visa when traveling to Ghana.

The announcement made by the Ghanaian government is seen as an important milestone in strengthening relations between the two countries. According to Ghanaian officials, this step is not only aimed at supporting regional integration but also at enhancing economic and diplomatic cooperation.

The African Press Agency highlighted that the removal of the visa requirement would facilitate the free movement of people and goods, strengthening trade ties across the continent. Moroccan media also emphasized that this decision would create new opportunities for Moroccan companies in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and new technologies in Ghana.

This initiative also aims to contribute to the integration goals within the framework of the African Union’s African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Ghana’s move is seen as a strategic step that will allow Morocco to expand its economic influence in West Africa.
