In Edirne, as part of New Year preparations, border gates are experiencing a surge in travelers, while historic bazaars are bustling with shoppers.

Ersan Karahan, who came from Switzerland, stated that he would be traveling to Istanbul with his family for the New Year holidays.

Emphasizing that he would stay in Turkey for a week, Karahan said: “We miss everything. The New Year is just an excuse; in fact, I visit often, but each visit brings a different emotion. I wish everyone a life without war, full of happiness, peace, and good health.”

Şenasi Sedatoğlu, who came from Bulgaria, mentioned that he visited Edirne for New Year shopping.

Crowds in the Historic Bazaars
As Turkey’s gateway to Europe, Edirne also draws the attention of citizens from neighboring countries.
