India, a BRICS Member, Signs Long-Term Hydrocarbon Agreements with Nigeria.
On November 17, 2024, India and Nigeria signed a comprehensive agreement aimed at strengthening energy cooperation. The deal includes the supply of crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Nigeria to India.
The two countries also plan to collaborate on technical areas such as pipeline security, compressed natural gas (CNG) conversions, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bottling. As India strengthens its role as a leading customer for Nigeria’s energy exports, Nigeria seeks to benefit from India’s technological expertise and investment opportunities.
This agreement is considered a critical step toward ensuring energy security and supporting a sustainable energy transition.
