The United Nations’ International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that it aims to reach 22.7 million people in need across 32 countries this year as part of its 2026 Crisis Response Plans.

In a written statement issued from Geneva, the organization said global humanitarian needs continue to rise amid ongoing crises, displacement, and instability. IOM noted that its response plans focus on delivering life-saving assistance and resilience-building support to irregular migrants, internally displaced persons, and host communities.

The organization emphasized that implementing these plans will require an estimated $2.5 billion in funding. “There is no time to wait. Our 2026 Crisis Response Plans are focused on people whose lives have been upended by crisis,” the statement said.

IOM underlined that the planned interventions aim not only to address urgent humanitarian needs but also to strengthen communities’ capacity to cope with ongoing and future challenges.
