Trade Minister Ömer Bolat stated that bilateral trade between Turkey and Kosovo has reached 785 million dollars and that they will visit Kosovo with representatives of the business world in the second half of the year.
The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) between Turkey and Kosovo was held at the Ministry of Trade Campus.
Bolat reminded that they hosted Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his delegation in Istanbul yesterday and held a successful economic forum, and today they discussed new opportunities in trade and investment relations with Kosovo Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade Rozeta Hajdari.

Pointing out that Kosovo is one of Turkey’s important trade partners in the Balkans, Bolat said, “The trade volume between the two countries reached 785 million dollars in 2023 and Turkish investments in Kosovo reached 162 million dollars.”
Bolat pointed out that Turkey is the 6th largest investor in Kosovo and said that Turkish construction companies have undertaken 30 projects worth 1.5 billion dollars and engineering and consultancy companies have undertaken 19 projects worth 9.3 million dollars in Kosovo.

Stating that they agreed on establishing JETCO between the two countries in order to further develop commercial relations and reach the targets, Bolat said:
“During the delegation meeting, we had the opportunity to discuss the work we will do and the steps we will take to develop the relations between the two countries in the second half of this year. We will organize the first meeting of JETCO in Kosovo before the end of this year, hosted by my esteemed colleague, together with a strong business community. Our new JETCO mechanism will provide us with a new dynamic mechanism to further develop the economy of both countries. We will always support our Kosovar friends and work together to move our economic relations forward.”

Minister Rozeta Hajdari stated that they are pleased with the JETCO established between Turkey and Kosovo and said, “Kosovo continues to grow rapidly. In addition to this growth, we continue to develop our commercial relations. In this context, we will continue to develop our partnership relations with Turkey.”
