According to a statement made on the Ministry’s social media account, based on the latest information from the General Directorate of Meteorology and assessments made, an orange alert has been issued in six provinces today.
The statement highlighted that citizens in these provinces would be informed via SMS by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and announcements would be made through village headmen, mosque and municipal loudspeakers, as well as police and gendarmerie vehicles, urging citizens to be cautious and stay away from riverbanks.
The statement also reminded that in Antalya, transportation for schools has been suspended for one day. It further noted:
“In the provinces under orange alert, as a result of heavy rainfall, 7,749 personnel, 3,118 vehicles, 600 motor pumps, and 334 submersible pumps are on standby from AFAD provincial directorates and all relevant institutions.
