Morocco was swept by waves of celebration on Thursday evening after the national football team captured the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 title with a dramatic 3–2 victory over Jordan in the final. The match, played at Lusail Stadium in Doha, was decided after extra time following a tightly contested encounter.

The triumph marked the Atlas Lions’ second Arab Cup title, coming 13 years after their first victory in the competition in 2012. The hard-fought win sparked scenes of jubilation across the country as fans poured into the streets shortly after the final whistle.

According to state television and local media, celebrations took place in major cities including Rabat, Casablanca and Kenitra in western Morocco, as well as Fez, Tangier and Tetouan in the north. An Anadolu correspondent reported lively scenes in the capital, where supporters gathered in streets, cafés and designated fan zones to celebrate the victory.

The Arab Cup success also represented Morocco’s second major title of 2025. Earlier this year, the same squad claimed the African Nations Championship (CHAN) trophy in August at the tournament co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, underlining the team’s strong form at continental and regional level.

On the individual awards front, Morocco midfielder Mohamed Rabii Harimat was named the tournament’s Best Player. Jordan forward Ali Olwan finished as the top scorer with six goals, while Moroccan goalkeeper El Mehdi Benabid was voted Best Goalkeeper of the competition.

The 2025 FIFA Arab Cup was the 11th edition of the tournament and was hosted by Qatar for the third time in its history. The competition ran from Dec. 1 to 18 and featured 16 national teams from across the Arab world.
