A senior adviser to Karol Nawrocki has criticized the United States for not consulting allies before launching military action against Iran.

Marcin Przydacz said that basic respect between allies requires prior consultation—especially within alliances like NATO—rather than informing partners after decisions are made.

This criticism is notable because Poland has traditionally been one of the US’s strongest supporters in Europe, particularly under Nawrocki, who has maintained close ties with Donald Trump.

However, the situation reveals growing unease in Warsaw. While Nawrocki initially showed support for the US-Israeli strikes, divisions have appeared within Poland’s leadership.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his government are taking a more cautious stance. Officials have questioned whether Iran posed a direct threat and warned that a prolonged conflict could:

  • Disrupt military support to Ukraine
  • Increase global energy prices
  • Indirectly benefit Russia

Poland has also ruled out sending troops to the region, signaling limits to its support.

In simple terms, Poland is trying to balance two things: staying a close ally of the US while also defending its own interests and expecting to be treated as an equal partner in major decisions.
