Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of launching deadly drone attacks overnight, as the conflict continues to intensify.
In Russia’s Belgorod region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said a Ukrainian drone strike killed two teenagers, aged 15 and 18, near the border. Meanwhile, in the southern Krasnodar region, another drone reportedly caused a fire at a sea terminal in Tuapse along the Black Sea. Authorities said no casualties were reported there, but efforts are ongoing to prevent an oil spill.
Russian officials also claimed their air defenses shot down more than 140 drones across multiple regions, including over the Black Sea and Crimea.
On the other side, Ukraine reported damage and injuries from Russian drone strikes. In the Odesa region, Governor Oleh Kiper said residential buildings were hit, leaving several people injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later said the number of injured had increased and reported further attacks on infrastructure in regions like Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia.
Ukraine also claimed its air defenses intercepted a large number of incoming drones, highlighting the scale of the aerial assaults.
Both sides continue to exchange strikes while calling for different responses—Ukraine urging stronger international sanctions, and Russia emphasizing its defensive actions.
