Gunmen attacked the town of Ngoshe in Borno State, northeastern Nigeria, on Friday and abducted more than 300 people, including women and children. Local officials believe the attack may have been carried out in revenge after the military killed three commanders of the terrorist group Boko Haram during a recent operation.

According to a local official from the Gwoza area, the attackers stormed the town and took many residents away. The incident has raised serious concerns about security in the region, where communities have faced years of violence.

At the same time, other attacks were reported in nearby communities such as Konduga, Marte, Jakana, and Mainok between Wednesday and early Friday. The military said its troops were able to stop these attacks. However, some soldiers, including a senior officer, lost their lives while defending the communities.

Military officials described the assaults as signs that the terrorist group is becoming more desperate due to continuous pressure from security forces in the region.
