The Governor of Niger’s Diffa Region, Brigadier General Mahamadou Ibrahim Bagadoma, presided over the opening of the 2024 annual meeting of the Regional Health Committee (CRS).
The meeting aimed to address public health issues in the region and define strategies to improve healthcare services.
The event brought together regional administrative and health authorities, technical and financial partners, and civil society organizations active in the health sector. In his opening remarks, Governor Bagadoma emphasized that this meeting provided a critical opportunity to assess the past year’s health performance, identify current shortcomings, and develop solutions tailored to the population’s needs.
The Governor commended the efforts of the Ministry of Public Health, healthcare workers, and local partners, calling for better coordination and decisive actions to overcome challenges.
Held in a region facing health and humanitarian crises, this meeting was described as a strategic milestone to strengthen the health system and enhance access to services.
At the end of the meeting, an effective action plan is expected to be developed to improve the living conditions of the population. Additionally, it was highlighted that the data gathered during the meeting will form the basis of a detailed report to guide future health interventions.
