A great event was organized to mobilize contributions in support of the Homeland Protection Solidarity Fund (FSSP).
The Ministry of Youth, Culture, Arts, and Sports recorded various in-kind and cash contributions, including a cheque for 100 million CFA for the Homeland Protection Solidarity Fund (FSSP).
Many renowned artists graced the event.
In his speech on this occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Amadou Abdourahamane welcomed this initiative for the FSSP, describing it as a well-thought-out partnership that enables overcoming obstacles and, most importantly, a culmination of many great actions that offer hope to the Nigerien youth.
On the occasion of the New Year, the Minister of Youth took the opportunity to wish everyone a happy 2025 and expressed his eagerness to see what can be accomplished together.
Addressing the ministry’s officials, Lieutenant Colonel Amadou Abdourahamane emphasized that sports, especially traditional wrestling, are today a strong factor in creating wealth for the country, and stressed that major sporting events such as the National Sabre generate economic opportunities.
In fact, he encouraged the Ministry of Youth officials, as well as the sports federations and cultural associations, to propose other major public activities for partners.
Minister Amadou Abdourahamane also urged them to launch and associate their image with the values of solidarity, mutual assistance, struggle, and nationalism, recalling the successes achieved in 2023 in Agadez and in 2024 in Niamey and Dosso.
He also invited them to trust themselves, as their sectors are a source of wealth. “Today, through these activities, the Ministry of Youth has proven it can respond to the call of the homeland by contributing to the Homeland Protection Solidarity Fund.”
Finally, the Minister of Youth saluted his collaborators and encouraged them for the exceptional work done since the creation of the CNSP, before handing over a cheque for 100 million CFA, representing the Ministry of Youth, Culture, Arts, and Sports’ contribution to the FSSP, to the FSSP president.
After receiving this contribution, FSSP President Mrs. Brah Réki Djermakoye expressed her sincere thanks and gratitude on behalf of the President of the National Council for Homeland Protection, President General Abdourahamane Tiani. “This patriotic gesture,” she said, “witnesses the Ministry of Youth’s commitment and determination to support the SDGs in the daily fight against terrorism and insecurity.”
She then assured the Minister of Youth that these funds would be used wisely.
