The number of established companies increased by 57.3 percent monthly and 0.3 percent annually in May, while the number of closed companies increased by 49.2 percent monthly and 37.5 percent annually.

“The number of companies established in the first 5 months of 2024 decreased by 15.1% compared to the same period last year.
In the first 5 months of 2024, compared to the first 5 months of 2023, the number of companies established decreased by 15.1%, the number of real person commercial enterprises established decreased by 34.5%, the number of cooperatives established decreased by 4.4%.
In the first 5 months of 2024, compared to the first 5 months of 2023, the number of closed companies increased by 30.1%, the number of closed cooperatives increased by 9.3% and the number of closed real person commercial enterprises decreased by 30.2%.
The number of established companies increased by 0.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.
In May 2024, compared to May 2023, the number of companies established increased by 0.3%, the number of cooperatives established increased by 4.4% and the number of real person commercial enterprises established decreased by 9.9%.
In May 2024, the number of closed companies increased by 37.5% compared to the same month of 2023, while the number of closed cooperatives increased by 16.7% and the number of closed real person commercial enterprises decreased by 60%.
The number of cooperatives established in May 2024 increased by 56.4% compared to the previous month.
Compared to the previous month, the number of companies established increased by 57.3%, the number of real person commercial enterprises established by 68.9%, the number of cooperatives established by 56.4%.
Compared to the previous month, the number of closed companies increased by 49.2%, the number of closed real person commercial enterprises increased by 21.9%, the number of closed cooperatives increased by 7.1%.
Of the total 10,355 companies and cooperatives established in May 2024, 86.8% were limited liability companies, 10.4% were joint stock companies and 2.7% were cooperatives. Of the companies and cooperatives, 36.8% were established in Istanbul, 11.2% in Ankara and 6.1% in Izmir.
Companies were established in all provinces this month.
Total capital of companies established in May 2024 increased by 63.3% compared to the previous month.
A total of 47,233 companies and cooperatives were established in 2024.
