The 15 members of the Security Council voted in favor of a resolution presented by Malta.
The UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution on Friday calling for the protection of children during armed conflicts.
The resolution, led by Malta, was passed with the vote of all 15 members of the Council.
The resolution, jointly submitted by more than 100 UN member states, condemns all violations of international law concerning the recruitment and use of children in armed conflicts.
It calls on all relevant parties to comply with international obligations regarding the protection of children affected by armed conflicts and urges full cooperation with the UN.
The resolution also requests that all member states and the UN consider child protection in all activities related to conflicts.
