The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has called on citizens to report the difficulties they face in accessing cash, following a continued rise in complaints from individuals and businesses about cash shortages.

The CBN urged people to report challenges they encounter when accessing cash from commercial banks and ATMs. In a recent directive, the bank instructed financial institutions to improve their cash management systems and also called on the public to identify specific institutions where cash access is restricted.

This call comes after widespread protests in Nigeria in August, which were fueled by escalating economic difficulties and placed additional strain on financial systems.

The measures taken by the Central Bank aim to alleviate the burden on Nigerians and restore trust in the country’s banking sector.
