Hukumar Abinci ta Majalisar Ɗinkin Duniya (WFP) ta fara sauya tsarin ciyar da makarantu a Ghana ta hanyar gabatar da shinkafa mai ƙarin gina jiki, matakin da ake sa ran zai inganta lafiyar ɗalibai da kuma ƙara samun kuɗaɗen shiga ga manoman shinkafa na cikin gida, musamman a yankin Ashanti.
Ana gwada shirin ne a yankuna bakwai domin tantance yiwuwar faɗaɗa shi a faɗin ƙasar, inda sama da ɗalibai 150,000 a makarantu na firamare da sakandare za su amfana. Manufar shirin ita ce inganta koyo ta hanyar abinci mai gina jiki, ganin cewa yawancin shinkafar da ake sayarwa a kasuwannin Ghana kan rasa muhimman bitamin da sinadarai yayin sarrafa ta.
Don magance ƙarancin sinadarai, WFP ta samar da na’urorin ƙara gina jiki guda huɗu ga masana’antun sarrafa shinkafa a sassa daban-daban na ƙasar, ciki har da Franco Food Processing and Farms da ke Ejisu a Ashanti. Bayan shigar da na’urorin, an raba tan 60 na ƙwayoyin shinkafa masu gina jiki domin samarwa, inda ake kai shinkafar zuwa makarantu ta hannun masu girki a matakin firamare da kuma Kamfanin Ajiya na Ƙasa (NAFCO) ga makarantu sakandare.
Babban jami’in Franco Food Processing and Farms, Franco Obour, ya ce ana sa ran kwangilar gaba da za ta kai buhuna 45,000 na shinkafa mai nauyin kilo 50 zuwa makarantu ta shirin NAFCO. A matakin gwaji, ɗalibai 157,510 ne ke cin gajiyar shirin, daga makarantu 360 na firamare da 35 na sakandare a gundumomi 12 na yankuna shida.
Daya daga cikin makarantu masu cin gajiyar shirin shi ne Ejisu Senior High Technical School, inda jami’in kula da lafiyar makarantu na Ashanti, Rev. Emmanuel Addo, ya bayyana shirin a matsayin mataki mai kyau ga lafiyar ɗalibai da ci gaban su. Dalibai ma sun yaba da shirin, suna cewa zai iya rage zaman banza da ma’adinan haramtattu ta hanyar ƙarfafa aikin noma a karkara.
A halin yanzu, WFP na gudanar da binciken riba da asara domin duba yiwuwar faɗaɗa shirin a faɗin Ghana, da burin mayar da shinkafa mai gina jiki ta zama ruwan dare a makarantu a ƙarƙashin shirin ciyar da makarantu na ƙasa.
